About Our Bernese Mountain Dogs

Bernese Mountain Dogs will typically range from 75 - 115 lbs when grown.  The males measures 25-27 inches and the female is 23-26 inches at the shoulder. Both have a sturdy build.

Coat
The Bernese Mountain Dog has a thick, long and a natural bright sheen to their coat. Their beautiful coats require daily brushing to prevent matting and to keep it clean. Frequent brushing also helps to retain their natural sheen in their coats. Most will shed moderately year round, and usually heavily twice a year (spring and fall). The slicker brush or the de-shedding tool is helpful with brushing your Bernese. The Berner has a double coat (a shorter undercoat with a longer outer coat) that repels dirt and insulates them during cold, snowy winters.

Personality
Our Bernese Mountain Dogs have the characteristics of your best friend: Affectionate, Good with young children, Good with other dogs, Alert, Loyal, and Good natured.  They are very social dogs which helps make them the perfect companion.  They enjoy the challenge of learning new things, and need to be taught right from wrong. Consistency is key in helping train your new companion.
